Transport security

Correctly loading and securing a pallet with moving boxes requires care and planning to avoid damage during transport. Here is a guide on how to load a pallet with moving boxes and then secure it with stretch wrap:

1. Preparation of the pallet

  • Make sure the pallet is clean, dry and in good condition. A stable, intact pallet is essential for the safety of your items during transport.

2. Arrangement of the boxes

  • Start with the heaviest boxes at the bottom and work your way up to the lighter boxes. This will ensure stability.
  • Place the boxes as close together as possible to minimize gaps and create a solid base.
  • Make sure the boxes are as equal in height as possible to ensure a flat surface for the next layer.

3. Securing the load

  • Tie the foil to one of the bottom corners of the palette to ensure a firm hold.
  • Wrap the film around the boxes in an ascending spiral, with each layer of film overlapping the one below by about half. At the beginning, part of the pallet should also be wrapped.
  • Be sure to pull the stretch wrap tightly to tie the boxes firmly to the pallet and prevent them from moving during transport.

4. Final examination

  • Check the load for any parts or areas that may need additional securing. If necessary, you can add more stretch wrap to those areas.
  • Gently press on the sides of the pallet to ensure the load is stable and secure.

Secure bulky items

Securing and padding bulky items on a Euro pallet for transport requires careful preparation to avoid damage and ensure safety during transport. Here is a detailed description of how to properly secure and pad bulky items:

1. Preparation of the Euro pallet

  • Make sure the Euro pallet is in good condition and has no damaged boards or protruding nails.

2. Placement of the bulky object

  • Place the bulky item in the center of the pallet to ensure even weight distribution. For particularly heavy or oddly shaped items, it is important to keep the center of gravity as low as possible.

3. Padding and protection

  • Use cushioning materials such as bubble wrap, foam padding or blankets to protect the item all around, paying particular attention to delicate parts, edges and corners.
  • For items with irregular shapes or delicate surfaces, you should add additional layers of cushioning material to protect against friction and impact during transport.
  • No parts of the object or the packaging should protrude beyond the edge of the pallet or be below the upper edge of the pallet to ensure safe loading and damage-free transport.

4. Securing the item on the pallet

  • Use strapping or ratchet belts to securely fasten the secured and padded item to the pallet. The straps or ratchet belts should be evenly distributed across the item and secured to the designated locations on the pallet.
  • Make sure that the straps are tight, but
not so tight that they damage the upholstery material or the object itself
    to damage.
  • If necessary, the entire item can be wrapped in stretch film together with the pallet. This helps to keep the cushioning material in place and provides additional protection against moisture and
Dirt. Fasten the stretch film with a knot at one of the corners of the
Palette. Then start wrapping at the bottom of the palette and work your way up in a spiral motion to ensure the wrap is even and tight.

5. Final examination

  • Double check all fasteners, straps and padding. Make sure nothing can slip and that the item is firmly and securely seated on the pallet.
  • Perform a gentle shake test to check the stability of the secured object.

By following these steps, you can ensure that your bulky item remains protected and stable during transport. Careful preparation and using the right materials are crucial to avoid damage and ensure safe arrival at your destination.
